Sierra Entertainment, one of Vivendi Games' labels, confirmed that it plans to release Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon late this year.
The game will be released by the holiday season for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2 and DS and is being developed by Etranges Libellules. The game has Spyro teaming up with his former enemy Cynder to stop the Dark Master's evil from overwhelming the world. In a break from previous games, Spyro can fly at any time and a second player can jump in and out of the action as desired.

Eiljah Wood will continue his role as the voice of Spyro with Gary Oldman as his mentor Ignitus. Also joining the cast are Christina Ricci, Blair Underwood, Mark Hamill and Wayne Brady.
