PlayStation Home Slips Into 2009
Sony confirmed that it plans to expand the closed beta test for PlayStation Home this summer, further delaying its commercial release.
PlayStation Home is the 3D virtual environment that PlayStation 3 owners will be able to access that should allow for social interaction, gaming and gloating about game trophies. The closed beta will be expanded this summer, and an open beta test is currently scheduled to begin this fall (in other words, before late December).
Clearly, PlayStation Home will not be completed until well into 2009.
