April Fool's Gags
Many game companies put serious effort into their jokes to celebrate April 1. Below are some links to a few of the more entertaining gags:
- Turbine announced the next major content expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online, called The Battle of Amon Hen.
- Turbine also revealed a new feature for Dungeons & Dragons Online Module 7, described as "Pimp My Warforged".
- Blizzard has introduced the Tauren Marine for StarCraft II.
- Blizzard announced that it plans to release Molten Core for consoles. (The concept art and screenshots are particularly enjoyable.)
- In Europe, Blizzard revealed the Bard Hero Class for World of Warcraft.
- Blizzard unveiled the Diablo Loot Pinata for Diablo II
- Shrapnel Games announced its upcoming game Dominions 4: Succubi In Heat
- NetDevil has changed its name to NetAngel.
- Microsoft has announced four new Xbox-related products, including Xbox Live The Board Game, the Xbox 360 Wireless Helmet, the Xbox 360 Vintage Edition and the Xbox 360 Recon Edition.
- NCsoft announced the addition of visual sounds for City of Heroes.
- NCsoft revealed the Skitterin hybrid for Tabula Rasa.
- Funcom announced the elf race for its MMOG Age of Conan.
