2007 Game Developer Salary Survey Results Released

According to the survey, the average developer is earning an annual salary of $73,600 – just above last year's average of $73,316.

• Artists earned an average of $66,594
• Business and Marketing staff averaged $101,848
• Producers averaged $78,716
• Programmers earned an average of $83,383
• Quality Assurance averaged $39,063 (although experienced Q/A leads can earn nearly twice that
• Sound designers averaged $73,409

Interestingly, only around 50% of game developers have a bachelor's degree. FI suspects this reflects the recent nature of the industry, and doesn't think that number would hold true for new entrants into the industry.
