Insomniac Starts Nocturnal Initiative

| | Comments (0)
Insomniac Games, the developer behind games like Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Resistance: Fall of Man, has started an initiative to share technological expertise called "Nocturnal."
Last year, Insomniac opened an Insomniac R&D page with a variety of tips and presentations. Shortly, Insomniac will begin releasing some of its source code (under an open-source license) through the Nocturnal Wiki.

According to Mike Acton, the engine director for Insomniac, "The Nocturnal initiative is designed to encourage greater communication and information sharing among the development community because it will ultimately enable us all to create better games at a lower development cost."
