Microsoft's Game Division Reports Operating Profit

For the quarter, Microsoft reported net income of $4.707 billion, compared to $2.626 billion in the same quarter the previous year. Overall, Microsoft talked about how pleased it is with Vista, but here, we're more concerned with Microsoft's division that produces games and the Xbox 360 – the Entertainment and Devices Division.

The Entertainment and Devices Division reported operating income for the quarter of $3.060 billion (compared to $2.969 billion in the same quarter the previous year). The EDD division reported operating income of $357 million compared to an operating loss in the same quarter the prior year of $302 million.
