BBFC Appeals the Video Appeals Committee's Decision to Allow UK Distribution of Manhunt 2

| | Comments (0)
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is appealing the decision by the UK Video Appeals Committee to allow Manhunt 2 to be distributed in the UK.
When presented with both the original and a revised version of the game, the BBFC originally chose not to rate Manhunt 2, preventing its distribution in the UK Last week, the decision was examined by the UK Video Appeals Committee. The Appeals Committee decided to allow the game to receive the BBFC's most restrictive rating, allowing the game to be sold.

Today, the BBFC confirmed that it has requested both a judicial review and suspension of the Appeals Committee's decision. The BBFC holds that if the Appeals Committee's decision is allowed to stand, it "would have fundamental implications with regard to all the Board’s decisions, including those turning upon questions of unacceptable levels of violence."
