Greenpeace Grumpy About Gaming Consoles

| | Comments (0)
Greenpeace has released its sixth issue of the "Guide to Greener Electronics." In this latest issue, Greenpeace has expanded its ratings to include game console manufacturers Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
The ratings are based on factors like the use of hazardous substances and product recycling. Sony rated a lofty 7.3 (out of 10), Microsoft rated at 2.7 and Nintendo earned the only 0.0.

Sony was viewed by Greenpeace as recycling well and managing chemicals well, while Microsoft and Nintendo were described as woefully lacking in Greenpeace-endorsed practices. Greenpeace is hoping that the report will pressure companies to engage in more environmentally friendly practices.
