Smith & Tinker Purchases License to FASA Catalog

| | Comments (0)
Smith & Tinker is a development house that was founded in Seattle by Jordan Weisman. That company has now purchased the license from Microsoft to the game properties from the FASA catalog.
Weisman was on the original FASA team (back when tabletop games were all the rage) and created properties such as BattleTech, Crimson Skies and Shadowrun. Given that Microsoft shut down the FASA Studio (responsible for games like MechAssault and Shadowrun, it's not surprising that the creator of these franchises wanted them back. Today, Smith & Tinker announced that it has licensed the electronic entertainment rights for all of the FASA properties. While specific projects have not been announced, Smith & Tinker wants fans to "be assured that our goal is to surprise and delight old fans, while welcoming new fans to these fantastic worlds."
