Infogrames Ousts Atari Board Members

| | Comments (0)
Infogrames Entertainment SA has instituted a plan to turn around the company's financial fortunes.
A number of the plans' elements seem like business as usual, including the company's decision to focus on franchises like Alone in the Dark and Dungeons & Dragons; efforts to improve its distribution network; and efforts to improve the company's financial base. The remarkable change is Infogrames' decision to make significant changes at its North American Atari subsidiary.

Infogrames has removed James Ackerly, Ronald C. Bernard, Michael G. Corrigan, Denis Guyennot and Ann E. Kronen from Atari's board as of Friday, October 5. Evence Charles Coppee, Jean-Michel Perbet and Thomas Schmider will remain on the board, along with directors to be nominated in the near future. Infogrames expects that the new board will turn Atari's financial slide around and will appoint a "Chief Restructuring Officer" to take charge of the turnaround.
