Fanatec, a peripheral manufacturer, formally announced that it plans to ship a new PlayStation 2 controller on November 1. Called the "Speedster Controller", it has all the functions of an ordinary PlayStation 2 controller with an added "Twist-n-Turn" axis. The idea is that this additional function can be turned on and off during gameplay to give players an easy method to control driving functions.
