EA Completes Acquisition of Digital Illusions

| | Comments (0)
Not long after the original Battlefield 1942 was released, EA began its efforts to acquire developer Digital Illusions (DICE). The saga of the acquisition has continued over several years, and myriad games from the Battlefield franchise have been released, but EA has finally completed the acquisition. As of today, Digital Illusions is now part of Electronic Arts.
The shareholders of DICE own around 2.6 million shares, and will receive SEK 67.50 per share (a bit more than $9 per share) in cash on October 16. That means EA is paying approximately $23.7 million for DICE.
