NCsoft Sales Increase, Hurt By Auto Assault Performance

| | Comments (0)
NCsoft revealed certain financial details concerning its fiscal second quarter.
During this latest quarter, NCsoft reported a net loss of KRW 200 million (Korean Won &ndash approximately $208,000). The company reported sales of KRW 85.5 billion, up 7% from the previous quarter.

NCsoft attributed the increase to strong sales of Guild Wars: Factions and subscriptions for Lineage and Lineage II. Sadly, this was offset by a "write-off (approximately KRW 12.6 billion or US$13.1 million) of costs related to sluggish sales of Auto Assault."

South Korea accounted for KRW 52.9 billion of sales, while North America contributed KRW 15.7 billion and Europe added another KRW 9.3 billion. Japan contributed KRW 7.5 billion of sales. By game (for this latest quarter, compared to the previous quarter):

  • Lineage – KRW 28.5 billion (down 5%)
  • Lineage II – KRW 28.4 billion (down 3%)
  • City of Heroes/Villains – KRW 5.5 (down 15%)
  • Guild Wars – KRW 16.4 billion (up 160%)
