Microsoft Offers Simplified Content Creation Platform for PC and Xbox 360 to Everyone

| | Comments (0)
Microsoft announced that it is opening the gateway of user created content for the Xbox 360. Building off Microsoft's XNA development platform, Microsoft will release XNA Game Studio Express later this year.
The package will require an annual subscription (of $99 per year) and will run on Windows XP. Users will then be able to play and share these games on a Windows XP box or on an Xbox 360. Several universities have already signed on to include XNA Game Studio Express in their curricula. GarageGames, a developer of middleware, plans to release a version of its middleware technology for XNA Game Studio Express.

A beta version of the software should be available on August 30.
