Electronic Arts Begins In-Game Advertising Rush

| | Comments (0)
Electronic Arts announced a series of initiatives that will incorporate more in-game advertising into its PC and console games.
One agreement is between EA and Massive Incorporated, now a subsidiary of Microsoft, to add "new dynamic advertising opportunities" to certain games developed for the PC and Xbox 360. The alliance with Massive means that the adds in these games will be updated as often as Massive finds it economically productive to do so. The first game that Massive Incorporated will provide advertising for is Need for Speed: Carbon.

Electronic Arts has also entered into an agreement with IGA Worldwide to do the same thing for other games. The first game that will include IGA's in-game advertising is Battlefield 2142, so players will see adds (presumably for current products) scattered throughout the futuristic battlescape.
