EA Announces First Quarter Loss
Electronic Arts reported the financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30.
During this latest quarter, EA reported a net loss of $81 million compared with a loss of $58 million in the same quarter the previous year. EA attributes $37 million of that loss to charges related to stock-based compensation (such as it's stock option exchange program).
As a matter of interest, 51% of EA's revenue comes from North America, with 41% coming from Europe. By platform, 24% of EA's revenues come from PlayStation 2 games, followed by 16% from the PC and 15% from the Xbox 360.
