THQ Reports First Quarter Financial Results

| | Comments (0)
THQ announced its financial results for its first fiscal quarter ended June 30.
For the first quarter, THQ reported a net loss of $12.10 million compared to a net loss of $3.96 million in the same quarter the previous year. THQ emphasized its better than expected net sales (rather than its loss), particularly due to sales of its Cars game based on the film of the same name. The fact that THQ has decided to discontinue development of the Sopranos game significantly impacted the company's results.

For this latest quarter, 59.7% of THQ's revenue came from the US market. Sales of PlayStation 2 games provided 25.7% of sales, Game Boy Advance games provided 14.8% and all other platforms contributed less than 10% of sales.
