Oklahoma Passes Bill to Block Game Violence

| | Comments (0)
Today, Brad Henry, Governor of Oklahoma signed into law House Bill 3004 (authored by representative Fred Morgan and Senator Glenn Coffee).
The bill prohibits the sale of videogames to minors if the game features "inappropriate and gratuitous violence." The bill is extremely broadly worded and very unlikely to survive a challenge on constitutional grounds. If the law were to stand, anyone selling such games to a minor in Oklahoma would be guilty of a misdemeanor.
