Electronic Arts to Acquire Mythic Entertainment

Electronic Arts announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Mythic Entertainment, the developer and publisher responsible for Dark Age of Camelot that is currently working on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
Assuming that EA receives regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to be complete in the second quarter of EA's fiscal 2007 second quarter.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mythic's current President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Jacobs will be come a Vice President of EA and General Manager of EA Mythic. From that position, Jacobs will work to help EA improve its track record in the MMOG space. EA's previous efforts have included The Sims Online and Motor City Online.
