THQ Reports Income Numbers

Publisher THQ announced its financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter and financial year ended march 31, 2006.
For the quarter, THQ posted a net loss of $7.9 million compared to net income of $10.1 million in the same period the previous year. For the full year, THQ posted net income of $34.3 million, compared to net income of $62.8 million the prior year.


Despite lower net income for the full financial year, THQ professed that it was pleased with its growth in sales numbers, noting that ten of THQ's titles surpassed sales of one million units in the last fiscal year. For this last fiscal year, 60.7% of THQ's revenue came from North America. By platform, 36.7% of revenues came from PlayStation 2 games, with the Xbox contributing 10.9% and the GameCube contributing 7.3%. Game Boy Advance titles contributed 21.3% of revenues while wireless content contributed 4.5%.
