Activision Acquires Bond Rights

| | Comments (0)
Activision revealed today that it struck a deal to make video games based on the character and films of James Bond. The rights to Bond are held by EON Productions and MGM (which is, in turn, 20% owned by Sony Corporation of America).
Electronic Arts has traditionally held the right to make James Bond games, but Activision now has the rights to make Bond games for all current and next generation consoles, PC and hand-held platforms through 2014. The rights to mobile Bond games were not specifically mentioned.
